CATS Academy Boston is delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Aaniva, who has earned acceptance to Amherst College, one of the most selective and prestigious Liberal Arts institutions in the United States. Ranked the second top National Liberal Arts College* and admitting only a small percentage of applicants each year, Amherst recognized Aaniva’s exceptional accomplishments and potential as she prepares to pursue her studies in Biochemistry or Medicine.

Aaniva’s acceptance to Amherst College marks a remarkable milestone in a high school journey defined by academic excellence, athletic achievement, and purposeful engagement beyond the classroom. Joining CATS Academy Boston in Grade 11 through the North American Hockey Academy (NAHA), Aaniva has successfully managed the demands of an intensive academic schedule alongside elite-level hockey training, demonstrating resilience, discipline, and focus. Her contributions on the ice were equally impressive: as a key member of the NAHA team, she played an instrumental role in securing the 2025–2026 Junior Women’s Hockey League championship. In recognition of her academic excellence, she was also awarded the 2026 NAHA AP Cup.

Aaniva’s academic record reflects both rigor and intellectual curiosity. She completed an outstanding total of 11 Advanced Placement courses and earned the College Board AP Scholar Award with Distinction in 2025. Beyond the classroom, she sought opportunities to deepen her interest in medicine and scientific research, including shadowing an emergency room doctor as part of a research initiative and participating in the Tufts Pre-College Research Science Lab Investigations Program.

Her commitment to service further strengthened her profile. As a member of the National Honor Society, Aaniva dedicated her time to volunteering in her community, notably supporting children through equine therapy sessions.

Through a combination of academic rigor, athletic excellence, research experience, and meaningful service, Aaniva built a compelling and well-rounded application. Her acceptance to Amherst College is a testament to her hard work, ambition, and the thoughtful way she pursued opportunities to grow both intellectually and personally.

On Thursday, April 9, CATS Academy Boston proudly hosted its annual Convergence Art Show, an inspiring celebration of creativity, collaboration, and student achievement. The event brought together talented young artists from across the region, including peers from Braintree High School, Thayer Academy, and South Shore Christian Academy, offering our students a valuable opportunity to showcase their work in a professional, gallery-style setting.

This year’s show highlighted the exceptional caliber of work produced ӰԺ Academy Boston. Maggie was awarded Best of Show for her striking fashion design, which demonstrated precise garment construction, meticulous attention to detail, and a powerful ability to translate vision into reality. Flora, recently accepted to the Rhode Island School of Design, earned third place for her evocative mixed-media piece Reverie, while junior Alex received an Honorable Mention for their work.

For our students, presenting their work to a wider audience builds confidence, strengthens their ability to articulate artistic ideas, and invites meaningful feedback from both peers and professionals. Events like this mirror the expectations of university-level critique and exhibition, helping students grow not only as artists, but as thoughtful communicators and creative thinkers.

What sets CATS Academy Boston apart is our distinctive approach to creative arts education. Rather than offering a broad, generalized “art” curriculum, we empower students to specialize in specific disciplines such as fashion, sculpture, drawing, comics, graphic design, and painting. This focused approach allows students to develop deep expertise in their chosen fields while building a diverse, highly personalized portfolio that reflects their individual voice and ambitions.

By nurturing specialization and encouraging exploration, we prepare students for success at top art and design universities around the world. Our graduates consistently earn places at leading institutions, supported by portfolios that are both technically accomplished and uniquely their own.

If you’re ready to take your creativity seriously and pursue your passion in a focused, supportive environment, CATS Academy Boston could be the perfect place to begin your journey.

]]>
We are delighted to share thӰԺ Academy Boston has once again earned a place on the College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) School Honor Roll, receiving a Bronze distinction for the second consecutive year.

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose Advanced Placement programs deliver strong academic outcomes while expanding access and participation. Schools earn this distinction annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to fostering a college-going culture, increasing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and strengthening overall college readiness.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program allows students to engage in rigorous, college-level coursework while still in high school, with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both. Participation in AP courses signals to college admissions officers that students have pursued the most challenging curriculum available to them.

Each AP course culminates in a demanding exam that encourages students to think critically, develop well-reasoned arguments, and explore complex issues from multiple perspectives—essential skills that prepare them for success in college and beyond.

In 2025 alone, 93 CATS Academy Boston students spanning Grades 10, 11 and 12 took AP exams across 18 different courses.

Furthermore, 25 outstanding students have been recognized with the prestigious College Board AP Scholar Award. This honor reflects their exceptional performance on Advanced Placement (AP) exams and showcases the college-level mastery, commitment, and academic excellence our students consistently strive for.

We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment. It is a reflection of not only the dedication and hard work of our talented students but also the incredible dedication demonstrated by our teaching faculty and the support they give to enabling our students to reach their full potential.
